Tiffany & Co. launches "Tiffany Rock" collection in collaboration with Daniel Arsham with sculpture and bangle

Nov 18, 2022
Tiffany & Co. is pleased to announce a new collaboration with contemporary artist Daniel Arsham, featuring a sculpture and limited-edition bangle to celebrate the launch of the "Tiffany Rock" collection.

Tiffany and Arsham's shared ideals of innovation, exceptional craftsmanship and rebellious creativity have come together to create an exclusive 99-piece piece with the New York-based artist. Each "Bronze Eroded Tiffany Padlock" sculpture, crafted from bronze with a beautiful patina finish, reimagines the padlock design from Tiffany's archives, showcasing Arsham's distinctive aesthetic, using the sculpture's character and distortion to create a sense of temporal tension, connecting past, present, and future.

The padlock is an important archival motif in Tiffany's history, dating back to the late 1800s, when Tiffany first offered functional locks. Today, the padlock motif inspires some of Tiffany's boldest designs, including bangles in the "Tiffany Lock" collection.

"Last year, I began my creative partnership with Daniel, presenting a limited series of artwork for the "Bronze Eroded Tiffany Blue Box®." "We are thrilled to continue this creative journey with Daniel as we celebrate the launch of the Tiffany Lock collection, which elevates the padlock design, a treasured part of the Tiffany archive, into a contemporary work of art," said Alexandre Arnault, Executive Vice President, Product & Communications, Tiffany & Co. "The sculpture is part of Arsham's "Future Archeological" artwork series, in which he reimagines contemporary objects through the lens of an imagined future. Arsham creates a sense of temporal tension through textures achieved through corrosion and a hand-applied patina that evokes Tiffany's signature hues. Nestled within the sculpture is a limited-edition Tiffany x Arsham Studio Lock Bangle." A bold expression of human connection and how it informs who we are, Tiffany Locks is a genderless collection centered around one inclusive message: "There are no rules. It's for everyone."

The exclusive 18K white gold Tiffany Locks bangle is meticulously hand-set with diamonds and tsavorite. Tsavorite, with its vibrant green hue, is Tiffany's signature gemstone, introduced to the world in 1974. Its lush green hue evokes both the sculpture's patina and the signature color of Arsham Studios. Each exclusive piece reflects Tiffany and Arsham's commitment to craftsmanship, discovery, and innovation.

"The Bronze Eroded Tiffany Padlock is the third installment in the story of Tiffany and Arsham Studios." This piece is deeply personal to me, but it also contains a historical element. It represents the connection between craftsmanship, function, design, and beauty passed down through generations. These are the elements that make Tiffany unique and allow the company to maintain an exquisite balance between tradition and modernity. I wanted to create a piece that celebrates that.
