Grammy Award-winning hip-hop artist Swizz Beatz and Naomi Osaka, who won the US Tennis Championship last month, visited the opening reception for the "Bally presents SHOK-1 "STREET X-RAYS"" exhibition, which began at Bally Ginza on October 11th. These two world-famous celebrities met in Yurakucho.

The exhibition will run for four weeks on the second floor of the Bally Ginza store to coincide with the launch of limited-edition products by Swiss luxury brand Bally in collaboration with London street artist SHOK-1. It was curated by Kasseem Dean, aka Swizz Beatz, who is known for his work with his label Ruff Ryders and has produced works for Jay-Z, Madonna, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Metallica. Swizz began collecting art in his twenties and founded the Dean Collection in 2014, which supports graffiti artists. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Brooklyn Museum and actively curates for young artists. He graduated from Harvard Business School last year and is a Grammy Award-winning music producer and entrepreneur. Last year, Swizz collaborated with Bally on the "Bally x Swizz Beatz" collection, featuring Ricardo Cavallo. SHOK-1, who Swizz himself is a fan of, was chosen as the collaborator for this project. He is known for his freehand spray-painted artworks, using X-rays he has taken himself, without the use of tape or stencils. He holds a degree in applied chemistry. One of Europe's earliest graffiti artists, his career spans more than 30 years. While usually shrouded in mystery, he will be visiting Japan in person for this special occasion. Describing his work as a "fusion of street art and science," he commented that it "expresses healthy or pathological states in the 21st century." This first solo exhibition in Japan also features photographs of wall art from London and Miami, as well as his silkscreen print "Thorns," of which 150 copies sold out in 11 minutes after its release.

On the first floor, the full capsule collection is lined up, including sneakers with inkjet prints of his signature works "FUNK" and "FLY," as well as sweatshirts and leather bags printed with his signature work "Consumer," reminiscent of Pac-Man, along with an X-ray examination table. The reception was attended by Frédéric De street, President and CEO of BALLY, as well as Naomi Osaka, and Swizz Beatz and SHOK-1 themselves gave explanations about their work, providing a rare glimpse of something unique to Tokyo.

In conjunction with this collaborative collection and exhibition, a Godzilla-inspired SHOK-1 piece was unveiled on the wall of a building in Udagawacho, Shibuya on October 9th.
