Louis Vuitton's contemporary art museum opens with Arnault and the French president

The LVMH Group's contemporary art museum, the Fondation Louis Vuitton, opened in Paris's Bois de Boulogne on October 27th. The opening ceremony was held on the 20th. At the ceremony, LVMH Group CEO Bernard Arnault and French President François Hollande declared the museum open. Other attendees included Minister of Culture and Communications Fleur Pellerin, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, and the building's designer, Frank Gehry. Also in attendance were designers from the group, including Nicolas Ghesquière, Karl Lagerfeld, J.W. Anderson, and Raf Simons, as well as film director Sofia Coppola, actress Michelle Williams, US Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, and architect Peter Marino. On the day of the ceremony, the museum building, where the event was held, was illuminated with lighting by lighting designer Hervé Decott. Opera singer Nathalie Dessay sang Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Vocalise" to celebrate the occasion, accompanied by cellist Henri Demarquette. After President Hollande left the venue, a dinner was served at the venue by Jean-Louis Nomico, director of the museum's restaurant, Le Franck.
