Also, "THE FARM UNIVERSAL," a gardening hub that recently opened in Ibaraki, Osaka, is a shop that caters to gardening beginners. It is directed by Taichi Saito of S
OLSO, and like bois de gui, the design is by Hiroyuki Ogura of Drawers.

Returning to the topic of Tokyo, let's take a look at some new developments. First, Via Bus Stop's new business, "PENDULE VIA BUS STOP," not only sells apparel but also houses a bookstore, general merchandise, and a cafe, and there is even a flower shop near the entrance to welcome customers. Also, near the Nezu Museum, SPOONBILL, a select shop selling flowers, houseplants, furniture, and miscellaneous goods, has opened. The delicate lighting design by Masaki Yasuhara of Plus Y beautifully accentuates both the greenery and still lifes such as vases.

Furthermore, the living room floor of Shinjuku Isetan, which reopened after a remodel in March, now houses a flower shop within the same floor as furniture, cutlery, and miscellaneous goods.

Another unique business model is the development of "Hanasekki," a mobile flower shop. We recently covered it in a special feature on pop-up stores in the May issue of Shoten Kenchiku, and its meticulous design, which takes into account the assembly and disassembly system, by PHAMILY, is a testament to its meticulous approach. And the recently opened "Tsutaya Electrics" at Futako Tamagawa Rise also offers a delightful display of lush greenery.

Finally, we have another surprising green topic this spring. We'd like to introduce the "Botanical Gardens" by plant hunter Seijun Nishihata, which have been deployed at various Takashimaya stores. At Nihonbashi Takashimaya, the gardens are displayed in the windows, and a large "botanical garden" has even appeared in the store's atrium area. Nishihata said that the plants will be allowed to "rest" at the farm after the exhibition period, and this gave us a sense of their way of thinking, which is different from the world of cut flowers, of caring for the friends (plants) they have brought from other countries.
