Reebok will release a limited edition "SOCK RUN.R" model on May 18th. This model features a modern redesign of the outsole from the Pump EVO, a prototype model that was never commercialized in 1996.


Starting with the Fall/Winter 2018 season, Reebok's running category will be releasing a series of new models that combine Reebok's unique technology used in '90s running shoes with modern designs. The first in the series is the "Sockrun R" (25,000 yen), a unisex model available in sizes 23.0cm to 30.0cm.

The same item was released in China in November 2017 as a collaboration model with Vetements, a brand that is immensely popular among leading Japanese musicians and artists, and became a hot topic as it sold out in one day.


The "Split Tooling" outsole is made up of four parts, creating space in the midfoot for lightweight comfort. The design is also finished to create an impressive profile when viewed from the side.

The upper is made of comfortable knit material and has a sock-like silhouette. The sock features a playful print exclusive to this first model, "Not For Resale RBK Sample," reminiscent of a sample shipped from the factory.


Reebok plans to continue developing shoes with modern designs while utilizing its unique '90s technology.
