Franz & Evans London, a deli cafe based in London, opens its second Japanese branch in Kyoto! Its strawberry-filled cakes are a hit!

The second Japanese branch of London-based deli-café Franz & Evans London will open on April 24th along Sanjo Street in Sanjo, Kyoto.


Franz & Evans London offers "modern British" cuisine based on Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, using plenty of large cut vegetables. The restaurant offers a warm, homemade feel and a visually appealing, imaginative menu. One of its defining features is its dynamic display of freshly made deli meals and deli meals seasoned with spices and herbs, as well as colorful sweets.

Exclusive menu items include the signature "arancini (rice croquettes)" topped with Kyoto vegetables, such as "Kyoto Bamboo Shoot and Kujo Green Onion Arancini" and "Kyoto Vegetable, Asparagus, and Shiitake Mushroom Salad," showcasing the fresh texture of Kyoto vegetables.

In addition, the Kyoto-exclusive "Eton Mess Matcha and Tamba Black Beans" dessert will also be available. Eton Mess is a popular traditional British sweet made with a jumble of crispy baked meringue, fresh cream, and fruit.
