Based in London, New York and Seoul, Suh Do-ho continues to express the feelings felt when moving between different cultures through sculptures made of houses and household items, as well as immersive installations. His series of sculptures, made from translucent fabric, recreate the texture and delicate details of the spaces he has lived in. They are light, portable, and can be installed anywhere, which is why Su himself calls them "suitcase homes."

This exhibition will feature three new large-scale sculptures made from translucent fabric, his signature style, as well as the Japanese premiere of "My Home/s," a video work capturing the artist's perspective as he travels between the different cultures of London, New York, and Seoul. These works raise fundamental questions about humanity and identity through what becomes apparent when experiencing several places and their cultures.

Su has explored themes such as home, physical space, movement, and memory, working with a variety of materials including drawing, video, and sculpture. Meanwhile, he also has another theme: exploring the relationship between the individual and the collective. One of his works along this theme, "Cause and Effect" (2008), is on permanent display at the Towada Art Center. This massive piece will be displayed in the largest exhibition room, measuring 9 meters in height. This work, featuring beautiful gradations of red, orange, and transparency, creates a sense of splendor as tens of thousands of resin human sculptures hang from the ceiling, seemingly piggybacking one another. It also expresses the idea of reincarnation, that life and death are always two sides of the same coin, repeating themselves endlessly over time. It resonates with Suh's other works, evoking new images.

On the first day of the exhibition, an opening talk event will be held in which Suh Do-ho himself will talk about the works on display. Related events are planned for the duration of the exhibition, including a curator's talk on October 14th by exhibition curator Kanazawa Rin, where the curator will provide commentary on the exhibition. Further details can be found on the website (http://towadaartcenter.com/) at any time.
