Event Date:2018.04.26-05.26
Apr 26, 2018
New York-based artist Koji Yamaguchi's solo exhibition "Roses" will be held at SALT AND PEPPER, a shop and gallery run by VAINL ARCHIVE, from April 26th to May 26th.

Koji Yamaguchi is an artist who also designs textiles for VAINL ARCHIVE. Influenced by skateboarding, street art, and his grandfather's work as a landscape painter, he paints life-size contemporary landscapes. He has worked both in Japan and abroad, providing graphics for skateboard and apparel brands, creating CD jackets, and advertising illustrations for major corporations. He has also collaborated with skate brands in San Francisco and New York. Since 2015, he has relocated his base of operations from Japan to New York.
Regarding this rose-themed exhibition, Koji Yamaguchi commented, "There are things that become visible when I paint various roses. It may seem like I'm painting roses, but I'm not. I think I'm painting myself through the roses."

This exhibition will also be held simultaneously in the gallery space on the first floor of Daikanyama T-Site Building No. 2 from April 26th to May 10th. The content of each exhibition is different, and is sure to be worth seeing in both quality and quantity.

In addition, to coincide with the holding of this exhibition, SALT AND PEPPER will publish a book compiling the contents of the exhibition, "ROSES KOJI YAMAGUCHI" (5,000 yen), and Vinyl Archive will also be selling a T-shirt featuring "ROSES" artwork, "ROSES Tee" (5,000 yen). The artist will be visiting Japan from New York from 7pm to 9pm on the opening day, April 26th, and a reception will also be held.
