Marunouchi House, the dining zone on the 7th floor of Shin-Marunouchi Building in Marunouchi, Tokyo, will be hosting a special exhibition called "ZINE House," the MOTHER of DESIGN＠(marunouchi)HOUSE, for approximately one month from April 23rd to May 20th, featuring approximately 30 artists and creators with ties to Marunouchi House.


Since 2008, Marunouchi House has been hosting exhibitions of popular artists and creators under the title "the MOTHER of DESIGN," actively promoting art and culture while also introducing new ideas as a dining zone. This year marks the 10th anniversary of this project, which focuses on "zines," self-produced booklets made by reproducing illustrations, photographs, collages, and other materials using simple, inexpensive methods like photocopying and lithography. Zines, characterized by their high degree of freedom and DIY spirit, have become a hot topic in recent years, attracting numerous fans and collectors worldwide. Inspired by Marunouchi House General Producer Uichi Yamamoto and Hiro Sugiyama of Enlightenment, who handled key visual and spatial direction, the project will feature a diverse lineup of artists and creators with ties to Marunouchi House, as well as a diverse range of other artists and creators. In addition to the unique lineup of original zines created specifically for this project, which can only be realized at Marunouchi House, the event will also feature a limited-edition sale of over 30 zines on display at the venue, as well as other related events. Purchases of zines are limited to one per person. Due to limited quantities, some works may already be sold out, but the exhibition is still open to the public.

Participating artists and creators include Aosaki Nobutaka, Asano Tadanobu, Izumi Taro, Ito Keiji, Ueno Takashi (Tenniscoats), Usui Ryohei, eri, Oyama Enrico Isamu, Ozumi Noriko, KYNE, GREEN FINGERS, Gokita Tomoo, Kobayashi Erika, Hiro Sugiyama, Daifu Motoyuki, m-flo, Tanaka Makiko, Tanijiri Makoto, TOWA TEI, Ninagawa Mika, Nomiya Maki, Hirabayashi Naomi, Wisut Ponnimit, Masumoto Yasuto, MADSAKI, Mizuhara Kiko, Yamaguchi Ichiro (Sakanaction), Yamada Aiko, Yokoyama Yuichi, Yoshida Uni, loveli, Washio Rei, Takahashi Yukihiro, Takashi Kumagai, and more.

In addition, the "11th Anniversary PARTY" will be held on April 27th, the day Marunouchi House celebrates its 11th anniversary. Over 20 DJs will appear in five locations on the floor, moving around the floor as music of various genres reverberates, while you can enjoy free 11th anniversary party food provided by all nine stores. DJs appearing include DJ NORI, FPM's TOMOYUKI TANAKA, and Toshio Matsuura. Tickets are on sale at all Marunouchi House stores for 3,000 yen (tax included) for same-day entrance tickets which include free food and three drink tickets at all stores, or 3,000 yen (tax included) for advance tickets which include free food and four drink tickets at all stores.

Marunouchi House is set to be even more lively this spring with the "ZINE House" special zine exhibition which gives a glimpse of Marunouchi House "the MOTHER of DESIGN"'s diverse activities to date and its future potential, as well as the one-night-only "11th Anniversary PARTY" 11th Anniversary Party.
