Alexander Wang opens new store in Ginza specializing in popular bags

Jun 12, 2013

Alexander Wang bags are selling well. According to Club 21 Japan, which handles the brand, bags account for 30 to 40 percent of the brand's sales. The most popular item is the three-way "MARTI" backpack. "It sells out immediately when it arrives in stores, and there are currently about 100 people waiting for a new arrival at the Isetan Shinjuku store," the company said. The bag will also be available as a special opening item at the company's new store on the first floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi today, June 12. New colors, including navy and brown, made of nubuck material will also be available when the Pre-Fall collection is released on June 19. The "Rockie" series, featuring studded bottoms, is also popular. "Its structured design and smaller sizes are a hit in Asia, especially Tokyo. For Pre-Fall, it will be available in a more classic and elegant design," the company said. The Ginza Mitsukoshi store specializes in bags. To commemorate the opening, the "GLOW" series, which uses glow-in-the-dark material and was a hot topic in the 2013 Spring/Summer collection announced in New York, will be releasing two bags: the "MARION" bag, available exclusively at Isetan Mitsukoshi, and the "PRISMA TOTE" bag, available exclusively at the company's directly managed stores. They are priced at 81,900 yen and 93,450 yen, respectively.
