22-year-old wins Versace watch design contest

Jun 17, 2013

Adrien Nebel, a 22-year-old from Geneva, Switzerland, has been named the winner of the Versace Watch Talent, a watch design contest sponsored by Versace.

The contest was launched by Versace in collaboration with the prestigious Swiss watch design school, Ecole d'Arts Appliques de La Chaux-de-Fond, to discover young talent who aspire to become watch designers.

Nebel's creation was created by himself, from design to finishing. Donatella Versace, who served as the judging panel, and Franca Sozzani, Editor-in-Chief of Italian Vogue, praised the design for its innovative fusion of watches and jewelry. The creation may also be considered for commercialization. Along with the cash prize, Nebel was given a three-month internship at the design lab of Timex Group, the watch maker for luxury brands such as Versace.
