Yasuragi Iojima, a resort hotel on Iojima Island, a remote island belonging to Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, will be renovated as the entertainment resort "Island Nagasaki (i+Land Nagasaki)" on April 1st. In conjunction with this, the "LUMINA" series, an experiential multimedia night walk featuring digital art, will open in its sixth location worldwide and its first in Japan.

The night walk, named "ISLAND LUMINA," is part of the "LUMINA" series, an experiential multimedia night walk featuring digital art by MOMENT FACTORY, a Canadian-based digital art collective. Enjoy a unique night walk experience set amid the majestic natural scenery of Iojima Island.
The Lumina series has five permanent venues in Canada, already attracting nearly one million visitors. Island Lumina is the sixth worldwide and the first in Japan, marking the first permanent venue outside of Canada. Each multimedia night walk in the Lumina series is based on the local culture and landscape, and the story, characters, and natural charm of the area make each one unique.

Island Lumina in Japan uses environmentally friendly materials to create a nighttime multimedia experience in harmony with nature. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, a roughly one-kilometer course filled with light and video will emerge in the forest, allowing visitors to experience the world of "Island Lumina" through all five senses. The project is an adaptation of the existing Lumina series, creating a completely original story and characters inspired by Iojima's landmark lighthouse, as well as the history, culture, and legends of Nagasaki Prefecture and Iojima. This unique Lumina blends Iojima's nature with video, creating a truly unique experience. Moment Factory, the creators of Island Lumina, was founded in Montreal, Canada in 2001. Currently based in six cities, including Tokyo, Moment Factory is a world-renowned digital arts group specializing in the creation of experiential content, renowned for its shows and events that utilize video, lighting, architecture, sound, and special effects. The company is currently attracting global attention, having worked on projects for Cirque du Soleil, Madonna, Sony, Toyota, MUSE, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Changi Airport. Under the slogan "We do it in public," the hotel is creating experiences that arise when people gather in public spaces, forging connections between people that go beyond the boundaries of entertainment, and pioneering a new form of entertainment that offers new experiences to the world.

In addition, as part of the renovation of Island Nagasaki, NAGI HOTEL and KAZE HOTEL have been reopened first. A wide range of activities have been added, including marine activities such as SUP and sea kayaking, island cycling, beach yoga, and an all-weather BBQ garden, allowing guests to experience the great outdoors of Iojima.
In addition, new facilities and a new accommodation area will open in July, including a new cottage (lodge) area where couples, families, friends, and even those with pets can stay. A variety of other new facilities will also be added, allowing you to spend a luxurious time on Iojima to suit a wide variety of needs.
Iojima has many attractions, including the Iojima Lighthouse, Japan's first Western-style iron hexagonal lighthouse; Yuhigaoka Observatory, which offers a panoramic view of the Goto Nada Sea; Costa del Sol, with its white sand and crystal clear waters; and St. Michael's Church (Okinoshima Cathedral), which is registered as a national tangible cultural property. We also recommend renting a bicycle and touring the island, enjoying the scent of the sea.
