The official poster project for the 2014 FIFA World Cup to be held in Brazil, "Official Art Print Edition 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil," will be held at the 8/ ART GALLERY/ Tomio Koyama Gallery in Shibuya Hikarie from June 5th to 17th. Admission is free.
For this project, FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) selected 23 artists from around the world to create posters themed around soccer and Brazil. Along with world-renowned artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Jeff Koons, Hideaki Kawashima from Japan was selected, along with Oscar Oiwa, a second-generation Japanese Brazilian. Thirteen of the 23 works will be selected for this exhibition. Kawashima will also be participating in the opening reception on the first day.
In addition, each work will be sold in a limited edition of 2,014. The print is inkjet printed on Japanese watercolor paper and comes with a certificate of authenticity with a hologram from FIFA 2014. Orders can be made at the gallery until December, and the print is also available for purchase at the official online store.
