Dunhill releases Japan national soccer team's "match uniform"

Apr 26, 2013

Alfred Dunhill will release a model (199,500 yen) with the same specifications as the suits worn by the Japan National Football Team on April 27th. It will be available at Dunhill boutiques nationwide.

The suit uses Dunhill's classic silhouette, the "Saint James Fit," and features a navy fabric with light blue and dark red alternative stripes. The inside of the suit is embroidered with the Japanese national football team emblem, the Yatagarasu, along with the words "Made Exclusively For JAPAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM," marking it as an official suit of the Japan National Football Team. The trousers can be customized with custom front tucks and waist adjusters.

Items to go with the suit include a shirt with a light blue gusset (29,400 yen), a tie made of 100% black silk with a blue and silver geometric pattern based on a bird's-eye view of Saitama Stadium, the home of the Japan national team (16,800 yen), blue button cover cufflinks (26,500 yen), and a reversible leather belt (29,400 yen).

This marks the 14th year that Dunhill has provided the official suit for the Samurai Blue soccer team, Japan. Since 2010, the concept of the official suit has been "competitive wear," signifying an outfit suited to important occasions. In 2013, in addition to the usual concept, the suit incorporates the message of "Departure" in preparation for this year's Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
