Korean girly photographer Ina Jang's solo exhibition will be held at Shinonome's new gallery

May 17, 2013

Korean photographer Ina Jang's solo exhibition will begin on the 8th of next month at the G/P + g3/ gallery, which opened in March this year inside the art space TOLOT in Shinonome, Tokyo. The exhibition will feature Jang's representative works, including her 2009 works "Onigiri" and "A Girl," and her 2010 work "Blue Paper." The "Onigiri" piece was featured on the cover of the third issue of "INTO THE FUTURE," a free paper and website run by Isetan Shinjuku. Born in Korea in 1982, Jang spent time in Japan before graduating from the New York School of Visual Arts in 2010. Her work, characterized by a flat, dreamlike quality, is created by using cutouts, models, backgrounds, and props, primarily in pastel and nude colors. She has exhibited her work around the world, including Dubai, New York, and Tokyo. She has won numerous awards, including the "Foam Talent" award, and was nominated for the 2011 Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival, which led to her being commissioned to photograph the winning works of 10 young designers at this year's festival. She is currently active in New York.
