On January 18th, Dries Van Noten held his Fall/Winter 2018-19 men's collection show in a former post office/tax office along the Canal Saint-Martin in Paris. The collection, which embraced keywords such as Nashville, traditional, tailoring, folk, tartan, and sports, mixed a variety of different elements. While incorporating classic and simple pieces, it created a completely new worldview. The marble print, which was the main motif of this season, was particularly striking, evoking a psychedelic image and giving the brand a strong sense of identity not found in other brands. Traditional jackets such as tartan and stripes were coordinated with piping western shirts and marble-print silk shirts, creating a blend of various moods within a single look, yet maintaining a beautiful harmony.
The items were exquisitely decorated with faux leather appliqués, colored thread embroidery, bead embroidery, rivets, and English lace embroidered on the flannel used in coats and jackets, creating an exquisite balance. The overall image remained consistent until the very end, and the entire show gave a sense of Dries Van Noten's unique mixture technique.
