Diesel brings the spirit of the '90s to the modern wardrobe [Pre-Spring/Summer 2018]

DIESEL has unveiled the full look of its Spring/Summer 2018 preview collection. This season's theme, "BRAVE ACADEMY," showcases the brand's signature style, projecting the spirit of the '90s into a cool, modern wardrobe. As artistic director Nicola Formichetti put it, "There's no need for crazy styling; the clothes themselves are crazy enough," the collection features unique, energetic pieces that incorporate playful details and elements. Hoodies, sweatshirts, and knitwear feature genderless designs featuring catchy logos. Sticker-like graphics add a playful touch. For women, striking pieces evoke "disco," including dresses and blousons covered in sequins and vibrant neon-colored biker jackets. Fire-motif varsity jackets and knitwear stand out in the men's look. Souvenir jackets are reinterpreted with embroidered artwork. The lace-up details common to both lines are featured on hooded dresses, blousons, T-shirts, etc., all in rock-inspired black.

Also noteworthy are the denim pieces, which combine authentic blue with a natural texture. The women's "Babhila" model features all-over frayed details. The men's pale wash "Dagh" jeans draw inspiration from iconic archive styles from the 90s and feature an easy fit. Footwear is complemented by unisex mesh slip-on styles. A low-cut version of the men's "Zip-Round" sneakers is making its debut. Additionally, the signature women's "Le-Zipper" bag line now includes a new small backpack and crossbody style.
