The Nihonbashi area will be hosting the "Nihonbashi Sakura Festival - New Discoveries in Nihonbashi, Yaesu, and Kyobashi" from March 16th to April 15th, an event that allows visitors to enjoy an early and artistic cherry blossom viewing experience.

This year's theme for the fifth annual event is "Enjoy Spring Artistically." The approximately 25-meter-long "SAKURA TUNNEL," a row of cherry blossom trees inspired by paper cutting, a form of Edo art and culture, will appear on the approach to Fukutoku Shrine and Nakadori Street, allowing visitors to experience an artistic cherry blossom viewing experience.
In addition, the "Sakura Light-up" event will bathe the important cultural property Mitsui Main Building, Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower and other facilities along Chuo-dori Avenue in a pink sakura color, as well as the "Nihonbashi Treasure Hunt" treasure hunt event, where participants solve mysteries while touring famous cherry blossom spots scattered throughout Nihonbashi.

The "Nihonbashi Sakura Menu Walk" will also be held, where you can sample cherry blossom dishes from approximately 150 restaurants in the Nihonbashi, Yaesu and Kyobashi areas at a great price. There will be a photogenic cherry blossom menu, from sweets and gourmet dishes to merchandise. In addition, the "Nihonbashi Sakura Yatai" will appear on Nakadori and Ukiyo-koji streets on March 31st and April 1st. Original food stalls from long-established Nihonbashi businesses, foreign hotels, and commercial facilities will be selling original food stall menus for just two days.

The Bank of Japan Currency Museum will be holding a themed exhibition, "Spring in Full Bloom! Nishiki-e of Cherry Blossoms - Welcome to Nihonbashi and Edo Sakura Street - 2018," from March 13th to April 15th, featuring nishiki-e prints depicting cherry blossoms, such as "Tokyo True View: Prosperity of Japan." A music festival and art exhibition will also be held in conjunction with the event. On March 19th, the Tokyo Spring Music Festival will host "Concert in the City of Cherry Blossoms in Nihonbashi," and from March 13th to April 15th, the Bank of Japan Currency Museum will be holding a themed exhibition, "Spring in Full Bloom!
