Paris-based Japanese artist Ikeda Ryoji gave a solo performance at a Rick Owens party held in Milan on January 13th.
The party, held to commemorate Rick Owens' retrospective exhibition "SUBHUMAN INHUMAN SUPERHUMAN" (which has been running until March 25th) at the Triennale di Milano since December 15th, 2017, started in the suburbs of Milan late at night on the second day of Milan Men's Fashion Week.

An anarchic performance featuring a white horse at the venue entrance, and inside the venue, a huge, naked male performer holding a fan danced on a platform with a DJ in the background. The venue was filled with guests as they gathered in the black and white world of Rick Owens, with the same ultra-white lasers used in the retrospective exhibition running like a ring rope. John Lawrence Sullivan designer Arashi Yanagawa was also in attendance.

The live performance, which began just after midnight, used a giant screen and the club's sound system to create a flood of sequences and white noise. Coincidentally, this marked the start of 2018 with a presentation in Italy of a futuristic, digital expression by a Japanese designer, similar to the shows by UNDERCOVER and TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist. that took place at Pitti Uomo in Florence two days prior.
