Coach has announced the appointment of Stuart Vevers as Executive Creative Director. Reporting to President and Chief Commercial Officer Victor Luis, Vevers will oversee all creative departments, including women's and men's collection design, brand image, and store environment. According to Luis, the company selected Vevers for his talent in creating hit designs for various brands, as well as his experience working for luxury brands. Coach announced in April that Reed Krakoff, who served as President and Executive Creative Director, would be stepping down in June 2014. Vevers, a native of the UK, graduated from the University of Westminster and began his career as an accessories designer at Calvin Klein. He then worked for Bottega Veneta, Givenchy, and Louis Vuitton before becoming creative director of Mulberry in 2005. In 2006, he won the British Fashion Council's Designer of the Year Award in the accessories category. Since 2008, he has served as creative director of LOEWE.
Vevers also visited Japan in May and presented the world-first collaborative collection between LOEWE and JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARÇONS in Tokyo.
