This is the first solo exhibition by Rafaël Rozendaal to be held at a public museum in Japan, and indeed in the world. Using three special exhibition galleries at the Towada Art Center, the exhibition will introduce his unique artistic world through video installations, tapestries, and haiku, suggesting the creativity that modern media inspires.
His website, which features colorful, beautiful, and contemplative video programs, receives 50 million hits per year. In addition to online spaces, he expresses his worldview in a variety of ways, including installations, textiles, lenticular paintings, and the art of the word haiku.

Rafael Rozendaal's work examines the state of artworks in today's digital society. His website works identify their owners by displaying the purchaser's name in the domain name, while the artworks themselves can be viewed by anyone, anywhere in the world, as long as they have an internet connection.
The title of his solo exhibition, "Generosity," expresses the generous nature of his art, which is available to everyone. In the globally ubiquitous internet, his works convey that they are available whenever we need them.

Various events will be held during the exhibition. From 1pm to 2pm on February 11th, Rafael Rozendaal and exhibition curator Kanazawa Rin will hold an opening talk where they will talk about their creative activities and works, and from 1pm to 3pm on April 1st, a workshop will be held in the Towada Art Center's Civic Activities Space, where participants will be able to express their impressions of the exhibition in haiku. Participation in both events is free (exhibition ticket required), and more events are scheduled to be held. Further details will be announced on the website (http://www.towadaartcenter.com) at a later date.
Experience sharp insights and answers about the public and private, and the nature of artworks themselves in the age of reproduction technology, and experience this important practice when thinking about art in the new era that we are just beginning to experience.
