Maison Margiela will be exhibiting an installation of its Spring/Summer 2017 "Artisanal" collection at Dover Street Market Ginza from October 27th to November 21st.
Artisanal, which Maison Margiela calls haute couture, is the pinnacle of creative direction as defined by creative director John Galliano. This installation will showcase key looks created using the décortiqué technique, which accentuates contours and reveals the structure of clothing, introduced in John Galliano's Spring/Summer 2017 "Artisanal" collection, which marks the first Japanese debut of John Galliano's Artisanal collection.
In addition, an exhibition titled "Discover the Maison Margiela 'Tabi' story," running from October 27th to November 2nd, will display Tabi shoes from various eras of the Maison's iconic "Tabi" collection, from the original "Tabi" boots introduced in the Spring/Summer 1989 collection to the boots with cutout décortiqué details introduced by John Galliano in his Spring/Summer 2017 "Artisanal" collection. Additionally, the "Exclusive 'Tabi' boots for Dover Street Market Ginza" (156,000 yen), made of gold leather with white paint, specially created for Dover Street Market Ginza, will be on sale for a limited time from October 28th.
