Noir Kei Ninomiya, the designer behind Ninomiya Kei, held his Spring/Summer 2018 collection show at the Comme des Garçons showroom on Place Vendôme. This season, the collection was crafted around the concept of minimizing the use of black while maximizing its evocation, with a straightforward image in mind. Dresses featuring pleated organza threaded with black trim, and pleated organza threaded through a black belt, were seamless garments created without the use of a sewing machine, showcasing a breathtakingly delicate beauty. A PVC jacket trimmed with black cord also strikingly contrasts with the black, creating a truly striking effect. In addition to experimental pieces like a set featuring a hand-knitted vinyl tubing harness and a top made of knitwear and a faux leather harness riveted together, the collection also featured the brand's signature decorative elements, such as a rider's jacket adorned with faux leather ribbons to create a floral effect. The second half of the show featured a top made of tulle fastened with rivets and an item made of organza shaped like a drawstring bag and riveted to a black belt, exuding a unique sense of volume and lightness, while the audience was completely captivated by the beauty and impact of the final two dresses, which were made by accumulating PVC and organza in the shape of flowers.
