Demna Gvasalia's Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2018 women's collection was held at the designer's studio in Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris. Exploring familiar, recognizable products and phenomena, the collection offered fusions of different pieces, even interchangeable pieces. While the concept of twisting everyday objects is a hallmark of Demna Gvasalia's work, this season it was particularly striking for its boldness and playfulness. T-shirt-and-shirt combinations could be worn as either a T-shirt or a shirt, a reflective work jacket-and-coat combination, and a raincoat-and-deep-jacket combination were also featured. These pieces were paired with leather pants printed with a Swiss landscape reminiscent of a PC screensaver, modular-inspired detachable pants, and a pantsuit skirt that revealed one leg at the front and one at the back.

Dollar and euro prints appeared on a combination of long-sleeved and short-sleeved shirts, and the same motif was also used on bags. A distinctive feature of this season's collection is that each bag is coordinated with a cape.

There was also a wide variety of bags and shoes. The classic shopping bag was adorned with fringe, and there were also bags with reflectors shaped like motorcycle cases and bags with souvenir charms attached to chains. Shoes included sandals with punk-style studs, panta shoes that looked like they were combined with pantyhose, and platform sandals in collaboration with Crocs. Everywhere you looked, the collection was packed with ideas, making it a rich and hyper-contemporary collection.
