Spiral Garden in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, will host "Windowology: The World Seen Through Windows," an exhibition celebrating the 10th anniversary of YKKAP's "Windowology" program, from September 28 to October 9. Based on the belief that "windows represent both civilization and culture," YKKAP has been conducting windowology as an academic research project since 2007, collaborating with researchers and architects to approach the subject from various angles, including architecture, culture, and art. This exhibition will clearly present the results of research conducted over the past decade, allowing viewers to consider and experience windows from a broad perspective. Seven researchers from universities and research institutions, including the University of Tokyo, will be exhibiting their research, and three artists from the art world—Leandro Erlich, Takashi Homma, and Yusuke Kamata—will be creating and presenting new window-themed works specifically for the exhibition. Additionally, a special exhibit by renowned Italian designer Michele De Lucchi will be featured.

On October 3rd, the symposium "Windowology International Conference - Windows are Civilization and Culture" will be held. Approximately 20 speakers are scheduled to give lectures, including world-renowned architectural photographer Iwan Baan, historian and architect Terunobu Fujimori, and architect and architectural historian Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani, who will be visiting Japan from Switzerland, as well as experts from a variety of fields who have previously participated in Windowology, and unique guests from overseas.
