Fashion show "Chika Collection" held on Osaka Midosuji Line train! Akimoto Kozue also appears

Jun 4, 2013
The Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau and Daimaru Umeda store will host the "Chikatetsu Collection" fashion show on the Osaka Municipal Subway Midosuji Line at 1:00 PM on the 7th. The show is being held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the subway's opening and the 30th anniversary of the Daimaru Umeda store's opening. Yukata and swimsuit looks will be showcased on the runway of a special train. Model Kozue Akimoto will appear as a guest in a yukata. Eighty women (40 couples, 80 people) will be invited. Applications will be accepted on the official website, which will open on the 8th. This will be the first on-board fashion show in 30 years, since the 50th anniversary event of the municipal subway's opening. The Osaka Municipal Subway opened on May 20, 1933, as the first publicly operated subway, running 3.1 km between Umeda and Shinsaibashi. It currently has a network of eight lines totaling 129.9 km, with approximately 2.25 million daily riders. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the opening, a ceremony, a panel exhibition, and a tour of the depot for children were held last month. A limited run of 1,000 route map T-shirts have now sold out.

An example of a fashion show being held inside a train is when "Keisuke Kanda" designer Keisuke Kanda held a guerrilla fashion show on a train as a student and was questioned by the railway police.
