The latest in Gucci's series of limited edition books, "Hortus Sanitatis" (12,500 yen), will be published exclusively by IDEA, a London-based independent publishing house. Photographer Derek Ridgers photographed the brand's Pre-Fall 2017 collection, capturing the everyday lives of models coexisting with animals such as cats and snakes. The photos were taken at Roman sites untouched for centuries, including an ancient pharmacy, a beautiful library housing many precious ancient manuscripts, and a bookstore housing a vast archive of books and artwork. The book comes in a special red cotton pouch featuring a skull and crossbones design, with gold-printed details on the page edges and cover.
In Japan, the book will be available for pre-sale at Dover Street Market Ginza from July 7th, and at Daikanyama T-Site from the 8th.
