Gucci's "GG Marmont" releases a Japan-exclusive collection using Japanese denim

Jun 8, 2017

Gucci has released a Japan-exclusive "GG Marmont" collection. Available at Gucci stores nationwide and online from June 7th.

The "GG Marmont" series is Gucci's iconic leather goods collection, designed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, but this limited-edition collection features denim made in Japan. The 100% cotton denim is made using traditional Japanese methods, from cotton cultivation to spinning, indigo dyeing, and processing. The denim is washed by skilled Italian artisans, resulting in a unique texture and color. This fusion of Japanese and Italian craftsmanship expresses the brand's original and eclectic creativity.

The limited-edition collection includes a tote bag, two types of shoulder bags, a mini-sized shoulder bag, as well as small leather goods such as wallets and pouches. The designs include two variations: one featuring a new rose-pink floral motif, created with delicate brushstrokes by Alessandro Michele, as a print or embroidery, and the other featuring pearl-adorned Double G hardware.
