Two major international textile trade fairs held in Germany, showcasing trend forecasts and cutting-edge IT technology

Dec 1, 2014

Mesago Messe Frankfurt will host Heimtextil, the world's largest international trade fair for home and contract textiles, from January 14 to 17, 2015. From May 4 to 7, it will host Texprocess, an international trade fair for textile and flexible material processing. Both fairs will be held at the Frankfurt Messe in Germany.

Last year, Heimtextil set a new record for the number of exhibitors at a trade fair, with 2,714 exhibitors. This year, new exhibitors include Toray, Boras Cotton, and Epson Europe in the home textiles category, and Andersen Textiles, bb & dd, and EG Heild in the house textiles category. Previous exhibitors, such as Dias Sun Protection and C-ENG, are also returning, further boosting the event's momentum. Products on display include window decorations, interior décor, and flow coverings, as well as wallpaper, blinds, and textiles for baths, beds, and tables. In addition to a wide range of product offerings, the show will also feature trend presentations, related events, and international awards. The highlight of the show will be the "Theme Park"-themed area (Hall 4.0), showcasing the trends of 2015-16. This area will showcase the most innovative and latest trend-conscious products, including products in the growing field of digital printing. Other events include the "Material Gallery," featuring a conference and presentation on digital textiles. The conference space will also feature lectures by renowned experts and presentations curated by design studios. Galleria 1's "Green Village" will also be a space for gathering information on sustainability. On January 14th, Lecture Square will host a seminar on online business marketing, and on January 16th, a Green Tour will be held, offering lectures on environmental issues and opportunities to meet with companies with environmentally conscious initiatives. Additionally, the Young Creations Award: Upcycling 2015, a competition themed on textiles, sustainability, and design, will be held. The annual "New & Next" event will showcase the next generation of creative design ideas. For the first time, startups and young designers will be exhibiting. Meanwhile, the third annual TexProcess will focus on "powerful software solutions for the fashion industry." The IT section will showcase cutting-edge IT solutions for the fashion and apparel industries, including 3D visualization, RFID, smart factories, AR, and digital fitting. A wide range of products will be exhibited, including automation technology for design and product development, knitting machines, quality control, and R&D products. The last time the event was held, 330 companies exhibited and 20,000 people from 98 countries visited. This year, Techtextile, an international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, will also be held at the same time.
