"Fashion World Tokyo 2014 Autumn," Japan's largest comprehensive fashion exhibition, organized by Reed Exhibitions Japan, will be held at Tokyo Big Sight for three days from October 20th to 22nd. This second edition of the show will add a new category, "Men's Tokyo (International Men's Fashion Exhibition)," to the "International Apparel Expo," "International Bag Expo," "International Shoes Expo," and "International Accessories Expo." The number of exhibitors is expected to double to 610. Due to the large number of men's buyers among visitors and the potential for synergy, the "2nd International Apparel Expo Autumn," "3rd International Bag Expo Autumn," "3rd International Shoes Expo Autumn," "5th International Accessories Expo Autumn," and "1st Men's Tokyo (International Men's Fashion Exhibition) Autumn" are also planned. In response to a survey of visiting buyers, exhibitors are encouraged to set up at least two sets of tables and chairs for business meetings, along with timed appointments. 95% of exhibitors will have tables and chairs set up in their booths, allowing them to conduct business negotiations while seated, aiming to increase business volume.
Furthermore, following the keynote speeches by Mitsukoshi Isetan Holdings President Taiyo Onishi and Laforet Harajuku President Toshio Kawasaki, which attracted approximately 1,000 people last time, this time a keynote speech by Parco President Kozo Makiyama will be held in the reception hall on the first floor of the conference building on the first day, the 20th, with keynote speeches scheduled for the second and third days as well.
Reed Exhibitions Japan hosts 110 trade shows annually in 25 industry sectors, including the International Jewelry Exhibition and the International Eyewear Exhibition. With increased visitor numbers, recognition as an exhibition that leads to business, and an increase in overseas exhibitors, the company plans to expand Fashion World Tokyo to 2,000 exhibitors and 85,000 visitors by 2018, five years from now. President Tadao Ishizumi, who attended an exhibitor briefing held in Tokyo, said, "I want to make Fashion World Tokyo the largest exhibition in Asia, attracting overseas buyers, and turn Tokyo into a fashion mecca."
Entry is limited to industry professionals only; the general public is not allowed.
