"SU・TE・KI! Exhibition," a collection exhibition by actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Kuroyanagi Tetsuko and charismatic bead embroidery expert Tagawa Keiji, will be held from August 3rd to 16th in the 8th floor hall of Nihonbashi Takashimaya.
Kuroyanagi and Tagawa met while appearing on "Tetsuko's Room," and have since continued to interact in various ways, including creating dresses and costumes for Kuroyanagi and appearing at events. Although active in different fields, the two share a love of beautiful and wonderful things. This collection showcases a wide range of items collected by the pair, including kimonos, dresses, crafts, and antiques. The exhibition will be divided into four sections: "Wa - Masterful Techniques," which brings together beautiful Japanese items centered around a kimono collection that showcases the artisan's craftsmanship; "Flowers - The World of Flowers," which features a floral world with a bird in flight; "Chinoiserie - The Exquisite Chinese Style," which displays items that evoke Chinese artistic styles; and "Oriental - The Beauty of Oriental Color Schemes," which features antique fabrics, shawls, rugs, and dresses collected locally in India, Afghanistan, and other countries.
During the exhibition, original goods will be sold in a special shop on the same floor, and a limited-time shop will be open in the event space on the first floor from August 3rd to 8th.
The exhibition is scheduled to run at Kyoto Takashimaya from September 13th to 25th.
