The "ilo itoo GUATEMALAN RAINBOW MARKET: Embroidery and Life in Guatemala" market event will be held at the event space SAA in Higobashi, Osaka, from July 28 to August 3. This event, which features Guatemala, a Central and South American country known for its name "Land of Forests" and its reputation as the birthplace of the ancient Mayan civilization, will feature a selection of products from the miscellaneous goods brand ilo itoo, which creates original products in collaboration with indigenous Mayan peoples with a unique sense of color. Exclusively available at this space, the popular "Sacoche" and "Handbag (M)" will also feature a custom order project where customers can choose their favorite pattern from samples and have their favorite text embroidered on them. Since the embroidery will be done locally, customers will receive their items around December. Also, on the first day of the event, a talk and networking event limited to 20 people will be held, "A Journey to Guatemala: Indigenous Life and Handicrafts" (1,500 yen + 1 drink). The talk is scheduled to start at 7pm, and the networking event will be from 8:30pm to 9pm. In addition, from 11am to 1pm on the 29th, there will be a workshop limited to six people called "Make a Hair Tie & Brooch with Ilo Itoo's Mayan Embroidery" (participation fee: 4,000 yen), in which participants will embroider Mayan bird motifs used on traditional costumes. Please note that you must choose between a hair tie or a brooch when registering.
