An exhibition of Lisa Larson, a popular Swedish artist, "For All Those Who Love Scandinavia: Lisa Larson" will be held from September 13th to 25th at the Matsuya Ginza 8th floor Event Square.
Lisa was hired by Gustavsberg at the young age of 23 and produced approximately 320 pieces during her 26-year tenure. After retiring, she became a freelance designer, active overseas, presenting new works and collaborating with Japanese potteries. Her warm, expressive pieces featuring coquettish animals and materials have captivated many fans both in Japan and abroad. Now in her mid-80s, she continues to create unique pieces based on her artistic family background.
The exhibition will feature approximately 130 of her representative works, spanning from her early to more recent years, organized by theme, based on the works shown in the "60 Years of Lisa Larson Ceramics" exhibition held at the Røjeska Museum of Arts and Crafts in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2016. In addition, there will be one-of-a-kind pieces from Lisa's collection, as well as a special exhibition of her husband, Gunnar Larsson, a painter and artist, which will be on display for the first time, bringing together a total of approximately 190 works, making this an exhibition where you can discover new charms of Lisa.
