On July 2nd, Chloé opened its cultural space, "Maison Chloé," in a five-story building adjacent to its Paris headquarters.
The space hosts exhibitions and events throughout the year that trace the brand's 65-year history. The interior, designed by curator Judith Clark, features an attractive route from the Haussmann-style showroom and VIP fitting rooms to the exhibition and event halls. Carefully selected art pieces and images are on display from the entrance to the fifth floor, allowing visitors to experience the spirit of the Chloé girls.
The first exhibition, "FEMININITIES - GUY BOURDIN," will begin with a permanent exhibition on the mezzanine floor, inspired by iconic designers from the past. The first to appear is founder Gaby Aghion, whose personal belongings and clothing from her final years are playfully contrasted with works by her eight successive design directors. Also featured are previously unseen images and clothing selected from the archives of photographer Guy Bourdin, the house's most important visual collaborator.
The exhibition will be open until September 6th, and tickets are available for pre-order at CHLOE.COM (https://www.chloe.com/jp). It is also scheduled to be open again during the FIAC period from October 18th to November 18th.
