Kitamura Domont, the eyewear brand created by eyeglass craftsman Kitamura Takuya, will hold an exhibition titled "Glasses Catch Up Art??" from August 3rd to 13th at the OFS Gallery in Shirokane, Tokyo.
3D printers and globalization have made "cheap, high-quality" commonplace in today's world. However, Kitamura believes that artisanal work is becoming closer to art, and decided to hold the exhibition with the hope that people will be able to experience the same excitement and wonder that art can have in handmade items.
In addition to displaying the brand's photographs, taken by actor, designer, and photographer Takakura Daisuke, who is highly acclaimed both in Japan and overseas in the contemporary art world, based on the concept of "craftsmanship x art," the exhibition will also provide an opportunity to consult about custom-made eyeglasses.
