TARO NASU, a gallery located in Higashi-Kanda, Tokyo, will hold the exhibition "Yumeie: Young Japanese Architects" from July 28 to August 12. The exhibition introduces nine young Japanese architects and two groups through drawings and models they have created. Aiming to bridge the gap between the practical work of architectural design and the imaginative realm of "dreams," the 13 young architects were given the theme of "dream houses." The house is an architectural archetype, deeply connected to thoughts surrounding primordial human activities such as "building" and "living," and each architect's interpretation of the concept of "dream" is left to their own devices. These dreams surface within the small-scale spaces embodied in the drawings and models, forming a microcosm even more dense than actual architecture. In an age of stagnation, what dreams can architecture weave? This exhibition offers a glimpse into a variety of responses to this question.
The participating architects are Aoki Hiroshi, Unemori Yasuyuki, Onishi Maki and Hyakuta Yuki of "o+h", Kaiho Kei, Tane Tsuyoshi, Konno Chie and Allison Rie of "teco", Nakagawa Erika, Nousaku Junpei, Nousaku Fuminori, Bandai Motosuke, and Mitarai Ryu, a total of 13 architects.
