The "Morphology of Mobile Phones" exhibition, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the au Design Project, is being held at the communication space Good Design Marunouchi until July 31st. The "au Design Project" launched in 2002 with the aim of revolutionizing mobile phone design. The first product, the "INFOBAR," was released in 2003 to critical acclaim, establishing the "design mobile phone" genre. The exhibition explores the past and future of mobile phone and smartphone design, exploring the background behind the "forms" of the project's concept and production models. The five-part exhibition features approximately 70 product designs (concept and production models) as well as visual designs such as catalogs, posters, and concept movies. Additionally, the exhibition features an INFOBAR-type Transformer, currently in development as part of the "au x TRANSFORMERS PROJECT" in collaboration with Takara Tomy, as well as a rare opportunity to see previously unseen concept models.
In addition, a talk event (capacity 30 people) will be held on July 27th from 7pm to 8pm with Naoto Fukasawa, the product designer behind INFOBAR.
