Cosmetics brand Lancome has announced the launch of "Nouvelle Vague by Lancome," a collaboration bag with three young designers representing Paris. The bags will be available in Japan on July 23rd at the Hankyu Umeda Main Store, with one each, limited to a single item. Each designer designed a makeup bag based on Lancome's iconic "Lancôme Rose" motif. Each piece embodies the new wave that grew out of the "Nouvelle Vague" film movement that emerged in Paris in the 1950s. "Creative Romance," created by Yiqing Yin, creative director of LEONARD, was born from the idea of transforming an evening clutch into a makeup bag. It features a mineral-like shape reminiscent of a pyramid, accented with two shining gold metal bars. Under the theme of "irreplaceable femininity backed by a warrior's intuition," the bag expresses the duality of an elusive fragility within the rigidity of armor. Priced at ¥120,000.
ALEXANDRE VAUTHIER's "Beauty of Destiny" expresses Parisian elegance through a makeup bag. The slender rectangular silhouette is accentuated with a metallic clasp engraved with Lancôme rose. "I wanted to elevate a simple makeup bag into an evening clutch," says the designer. Priced at ¥120,000.
JACQUEMUS's "Ultra Fresh" bag is playful, combining a feminine pink exterior with a vibrant blue interior. The design evokes "the simplicity of childhood and the playfulness of a grown-up woman." The waterproof cotton pouch can be worn around the waist with a carry strap. Priced at ¥70,000. Each bag contains the brand's signature lipstick, L'Absolu Rouge 394, mascara, Hypno Star Waterproof Black, and eyeshadow palette, Hypno Palette DR6.
