NARS will release its Fall 2014 Color Collection on August 8th. Creative Director François Nars was inspired by the 1970s, influenced by the Art Deco era of the 1930s, and incorporated jewel stones and sparkling shades. The smooth, comfortable Night Series Eyeliner (4 colors, 2,200 yen each) exudes a particularly decadent feel. Inspired by the Night Series single eyeshadows, the collection features a jet-black base with a variety of sparkling hues, including emerald and purple. The limited-edition Duo Eyeshadow (4,200 yen) comes in two shades: metallic gray and amethyst, and rose and chocolate. The Satin Lip Pencil (3,000 yen) will be available in a new rose brown and a limited-edition sensual cranberry shade. The Matte Multiple (4,800 yen) for cheeks and lips comes in a limited edition strawberry red that contrasts with smoky eyes, while the Blush (3,000 yen) is a new amber pink with sparkling silver pearl.
While many of the colors are dark or smoky, the key is to start by applying a small amount and then build up until you find the look you like. If you want to take it to the next level, Nars recommends adding bold colors. "The most important thing is to blend well and have fun," says Nars.
