The third Sarabeth's store opens at Atre Shinagawa. More than just the standard breakfast menu!

Jul 11, 2014

On July 11th, the Shinagawa branch of New York-based restaurant Sarabeths will open on the fourth floor of Atre Shinagawa, directly connected to Shinagawa Station. The restaurant will have a floor space of 71.69 square meters and seat 82 people (74 dining and 8 at the bar).

Sarabeths is highly acclaimed for its breakfast menu, which includes original fruit spreads, French toast, and eggs Benedict. In the United States, the restaurant has 10 locations in New York and one in Florida. In Japan, the Lumine Shinjuku location opened in November 2012, offering all-day breakfast. The following year, the Daikanyama location opened in October 2013, offering appetizers and hamburgers that go well with alcohol.

The Shinagawa location, the third location, will feature a variety of menu items depending on the time of day, from breakfast, lunch, after-hours drinks, and dinner. Based on the concept of a "modern New York restaurant," the restaurant aims to convey a new appeal that goes beyond the image of "Sarabeths is synonymous with breakfast." Prior to the grand opening, a reception was held on July 9th, attended by founder Sarabeth Levine and Ken Shimizu, president of WDI, which operates Sarabeth's in Japan. "We spent a lot of time developing the new menu," Levine said. "We hope you enjoy a modern New York style, 'adult Sarabeth's' that's a little different from what we've had before." On the day, they showcased some of the recommended dishes from the dinner menu, including "Scallop Eggs Benedict" (1,500 yen), "Salmon Poele" (2,000 yen), "Oysters Fried with Buckwheat and Cornmeal, Cream Spinach" (1,200 yen), and "Roast Beef, Cauliflower, and Carrot Romesco" (600 yen). Each dish is carefully crafted with carefully selected ingredients, and the use of many organic vegetables allows diners to fully enjoy the bitter and sweet flavors of the vegetables.

Also on the same day, Belgian cuisine restaurant "Belgian Beer Cafe Leuven" opened on the same floor. This Belgian beer cafe is an official brand of Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest beer brewery, and is the eighth store in Japan. It offers over 50 unique beers, including the pilsner beer "Stella Artois," as well as a wide selection of traditional Belgian dishes that go perfectly with beer.

Sarabeth's Shinagawa is open from 9:00 to 24:00, while Belgian Beer Cafe Leuven is open from 11:00 to 24:00.
