Tokyo night view transitions from rainy season scenery with blooming hydrangeas to Japanese summer scenery

The popular 2019 "TOKYO TOWER CITY LIGHT FANTASIA ~Cool Japanese Summer~" has been upgraded as ~Summer landscape 2022~, bringing you Japanese scenery as it transitions from the rainy season to early summer and then midsummer, incorporating content such as hydrangeas, sunflowers, and fireworks. Colorful hydrangeas bloom vibrantly in the rain. The rainy season ends, and summer begins with the chirping of cicadas and pure white clouds spreading across the blue sky. After the sun sets over the sunflower fields, a multitude of fireworks overlap one another, spreading across the nightscape for the finale. In addition to the visuals, the soundtrack is also impressive, with elements like pouring rain, the chirps of cicadas, and the roar of fireworks. Enjoy the changing scenery of Japan's summer against the backdrop of Tokyo's nightscape.


About TOKYO TOWER CITY LIGHT FANTASIA

"TOKYO TOWER CITY LIGHT FANTASIA" is a night view event planned, directed, and produced by NAKED, which began in 2014. By combining the night view from the observation deck with projection mapping, the event has created a new night view experience and observation deck entertainment. Since then, as "CITY LIGHT FANTASIA by NAKED," it has been held at towers and observation decks across Japan, including Abeno Harukas and Nagoya TV Tower, and at night entertainment spots across the country, showcasing the unique characteristics of each location.


"DANDELION PROJECT": Art that connects the world


Additionally, in the northwest area of the 2nd floor of Tokyo Tower's Main Deck, you can enjoy "DANDELION PROJECT" by Muramatsu Ryotaro/NAKED.

In an age of increasing division, "DANDELION PROJECT" is based on the concept of "a world filled with peace" that connects people across all barriers. Since autumn 2020, it has been exhibited in locations such as MIYASHITA PARK and Tokyo Tower in Tokyo, Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, and Nijo Castle, a World Heritage Site in Kyoto. This is a network-based art project in which dandelion art objects called "DANDELION" are planted (installed) all over the world, and people who experience "DANDELION" send their prayers for peace to the world in real time as digital flowers.

Through "DANDELION," the digital dandelion fluff released by participants connects to various places via the network, causing the art of flowers of peace to bloom all over the world. (※ "DANDELION" is an artwork in which seeds fly when breath is blown onto cotton fluff, but as a preventative measure, participants can make the fluff fly by holding their smartphone over the device.)
