Maison Francis Kurkdjian will release Amyris Femme Eau de Parfum (70ml/16,800 yen) on March 13, 2013.
Amyris is a shrub in the Rutaceae family that emits a dry, warm fragrance. The delicate powdery scent of Iris odorata (Iris sieboldii), extracted from the rhizomes of the Dalmatian iris, blends subtly with it to create a beautiful fragrance.
Francis Kurkdjian created his first fragrance, Le Male (Jean Paul Gaultier), in 1995. In 2001, he opened an atelier in Paris specializing in custom fragrances. In 2009, he launched his eponymous brand, Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Renowned as a 21st-century fragrance genius, Kurkdjian uses the finest materials to boldly reinterpret classicism.
As exemplified by the best-selling "Aqua Universalis Eau de Toilette" (70ml/15,750 yen), which has a clean scent like freshly washed linen, Kurkdjian's fragrances are made with the finest ingredients, making everyone want to take a deep breath and exclaim, "What a nice smell!", while maintaining a sense of transparency and purity, allowing for an intense fragrance that can be fully enjoyed.
Currently, corners of Kurkdjian's fragrances are available in Isetan Shinjuku Main Store and Umeda Hankyu Main Store in Japan.
