BLACKBARRETT, rebranded by designer Neil Barrett, unveiled its first pre-main collection for the SS15 season. Under Neil Barrett's full supervision, the pre-spring collection features pieces inspired by British public schools. Its most obvious design features include bold borders and color blocks, inspired by the schoolyards of the prestigious Eton School. Traditional patterns like chalk stripes and pinstripes are also incorporated into cut-and-sew pieces. The brand also focuses on the simple beauty of lines and stripes. Graphics reminiscent of contemporary art, such as the geometric patterns that pop out on skulls and the regular boundaries of basketball courts, blend seamlessly with functional sportswear and tailoring. Meanwhile, the irregular lines and circles created by the rings and overlapping branches of trees are incorporated into authentic men's silhouettes. Starting this season, Neil will be in charge of directing over 90% of all products. While incorporating the fitting and patterns of the main brand, it is likely that items that will appeal to his fans in terms of design, materials and price range will be developed.
