A solo exhibition of Kishio Suga, a representative artist of the Mono-ha movement, will be held at Shibuya Hikarie

Mar 10, 2015

The "Kishio Suga Exhibition" will be held at Shibuya Hikarie's "8/ART GALLERY/TOMIO KOYAMA GALLERY." The exhibition will run from March 11th to 30th.

Kishio Suga is an artist who has explored the act of seeing and perceiving things, and is known as a representative figure of the "Mono-ha" movement. In the past, he has presented installations that activate spaces by arranging stone, wood, building materials, and other elements. In these works, he has visualized the power, origins, and individuality of the materials used in his works—in other words, the "things" themselves.

This exhibition will feature many of Suga's works, with a focus on new works. Suga is currently holding large-scale solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo and the Vangi Sculpture Garden Museum. By touring these exhibitions, you will be able to discover how objects appear to be alive and their true essence.
