teamLab will be showcasing their new work, "The Waterfall on the Grand Palais," at the Art Paris Art Fair 2015, taking place in Paris from March 26th to 29th. The Art Paris Art Fair 2015 is a contemporary art event jointly organized by 145 galleries from approximately 20 countries. "The Waterfall on the Grand Palais" is a projection-mapped work depicting a 28-meter-tall, 68-meter-wide waterfall on the Grand Palais, the venue for the event. The projected image simulates the flow of water, with a computer-generated representation of the Grand Palais as the rocks. The flow of water is represented by a continuum of countless water particles, and the interactions between the particles are calculated to accurately reproduce the movement of the water. The behavior of 0.1% of these particles, randomly selected from the group, draws lines in space, and the collection of these lines completes the flow of the waterfall.
Also, Bogena Galerie will be exhibiting "Chased Crows, Chasing Crows Are Also Chased - Black in White," which was first shown in 2014. The work is a video that flattens a world constructed in 3D space on a computer. The trajectories of Yatagarasu birds flying through the air are depicted in ink, creating a form of spatial calligraphy. The Yatagarasu birds ultimately turn into colorful, vibrant flowers and scatter.
