Shiseido is collaborating with the "Advanced Style: New York Madam Fashion Snaps" photo exhibition currently being held at the Seibu Shibuya store, hosting various events at the venue. The exhibition runs until March 1st. "Advanced Style" is a photo book published by photographer Ari Seth Cohen. It features photographs of New York ladies enjoying free-spirited fashion. It has sold 38,000 copies in Japan and has received rave reviews. Approximately 150 photographs from the book were exhibited at the venue. To coincide with the exhibition, Shiseido will exhibit "Hanatsubaki" in the corridor connecting Buildings A and B on the 5th floor. First published in 1937, this corporate culture magazine has provided cutting-edge information, primarily on beauty and cosmetics. Issues of "Hanatsubaki" from the 1960s and 1970s will be on display in the corridor. Since the 1970s, art director Masayoshi Nakajo has pursued various approaches to "beauty." By displaying these back issues, which capture the spirit of the time, such as "Wear what you want, when you want," the exhibition aims to predict this year's fashion and makeup trends.
The latest issue of Hanatsubaki, published in 2014, will also be on display and available to take home, making it a must-see for Hanatsubaki fans.
In addition, a corner featuring Dick Page's "Suggestions for Enjoying Everyday Makeup" will be set up within the exhibition venue. Dick is the artistic director of the global brand Shiseido and has previously designed makeup for shows such as Michael Kors and Marc by Marc Jacobs. This event will propose ways to incorporate beauty into everyday life through makeup.
In addition, purchases of Shiseido White Lucent and makeup products worth ¥7,000 or more during the event will receive a special-sized Shiseido Face Color and an original pouch on a first-come, first-served basis.
