Details have been revealed for the "Star Wars Exhibition: Visions of Creation Continuing into the Future," opening April 29th at Tokyo City View in Roppongi Hills. For this exhibition, George Lucas commissioned works from world-renowned artists, including Syd Mead, a pioneer of sci-fi visual design, and Yoshitaka Amano of the Final Fantasy series. Approximately 60 world-premiere artworks based on the theme of "vision" will be on display. The exhibition is divided into six sections, including "The Original Visions—The Origins of Star Wars," which focuses on the inspirations of Star Wars. Artworks based on these motifs include the space adventure "Flash Gordon," Akira Kurosawa's "The Hidden Fortress," and the soot-stained Apollo spacecraft that returned to Earth. Meanwhile, "Vision of FORCE—Light and Dark of the Force—" will feature artwork themed around the good and evil aspects of the Force, exhibited alongside lightsabers from the film. Other exhibits include "Vision of BATTLE—Battle and Weapons—," showcasing digests of battle scenes alongside blaster guns used in filming. "Vision of SAGA—Portrait of Fate—" will showcase costumes and props worn by characters, while "Vision of GALAXY—Galaxy and Ecosystem—" will introduce humorous creatures, including Ewok costumes and a statue of Jabba the Hutt. Furthermore, "Vision of DROID—Saga as Seen by a Droid—" will feature the iconic droid duo C-3PO and R2-D2. Visitors can look back on the past six films through video. Advance tickets (1,800 yen) with a commemorative medal will be available at 7-Eleven and Lawson stores nationwide ahead of the exhibition. Three designs are available: Darth Vader, R2-D2 and Leia Organa, and the Millennium Falcon. In addition, a special shop within the venue will be selling limited edition merchandise, including 1/4 scale plush toys of "Wicket" and "Sitting Wicket." Twelve stores within Hills will also be selling T-shirts and umbrellas in collaboration with the film.
