The opening scene of the documentary film "Dior and I," due for release on March 14th, has been released.
The video, which begins with classical music, shows Christian Dior at the time, along with footage of the press conference when the house was founded in 1947 and models wearing dresses he designed. The video then moves to the Dior atelier 55 years later, the setting of the film, and ends with the introduction of Raf Simons as the house's new designer.
The film "Dior and I" depicts Raf and Dior's artisans working together in the eight weeks leading up to the Paris Collection. Inside Dior's Grand Maison, never before seen, the video vividly depicts the actual process of how the designer and seamstresses turn a single piece of fabric into a dress. Also worth noting are the sketches left behind by Dior at the time, which can only be seen in this film.
