Björk retrospective at MoMA, five-volume exhibition catalogue on sale at Omotesando shop

Mar 17, 2015

The MoMA Design Store, a museum shop in Omotesando, will release the "Björk MoMA Exhibition Catalog" (8,424 yen) on March 19th. This catalog was published in conjunction with the retrospective exhibition currently being held at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York from March 8th. The main paperback focuses on Björk's major albums. It features live performance photos with text by her longtime partner, poet Sean. It also features images of Björk wearing stage costumes by renowned designers such as Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan. The catalog also features numerous photographs by Nan Goldin, Juergen Teller, Stéphane Sednaoui, and Nobuyoshi Araki, as well as stills from music videos directed by Michel Gondry and others. The four booklets also feature contributions from MoMA curators, music critic Alex Ross, and music psychologist Nicola Dibben, and feature an illustrated conversation with philosopher Timothy Morton. The collection includes a poster featuring Björk's CD artwork, bringing the total to six items. The case housing these items was designed by M/M Paris, with a "World of Wonder" theme. The current retrospective exhibition at MoMA features Björk's instruments, tour costumes, and the robot featured in the "All Is Full of Love" music video. Visitors can also look back on Björk's career through a video installation featuring "Black Lake," a track from her new album, and an exhibition showcasing her past albums through video and related materials.
