All items from the first collection of the highly anticipated collaboration, "NikeLab x sacai," have been revealed ahead of its release date. The lineup, part of the first collaboration between NikeLab and sacai, will be released on March 25th as part of the spring collection. For sacai designer Chitose Abe, Nike has been one of her favorite brands since her 20s, so the collaboration was a natural progression. She also regularly pairs Nike shoes with her sacai dresses. In preparation for this collaboration, Abe visited Nike headquarters to access archives and materials. Drawing on Nike heritage pieces like the Windrunner and Tech Fleece, she reimagined classics (Nike) in her own unique way, bringing a new interpretation to sportswear. While utilizing Nike materials and technology, the silhouettes and details are all original. According to Sacai, Abe "created a collection that everyone would recognize as 'Sacai no matter how you look at it, Nike no matter how you look at it.'" For example, unlike Sacai's sewn collections, NikeLab x Sacai uses heat-pressed bonding to create a seamless finish, utilizing special techniques to embody functionality and perhaps the most distinctive feature of the "NikeLab x Sacai" collection. To capture the beauty of a woman in motion, techniques such as bonding are used to minimize the weight of the material, allowing the delicate pleats on the back and flared silhouette to move with movement. Other items in the collection include sweatshirts, cut-and-sew tops, sweatpants, and a slip-on version of the Air Max 90, all crafted from Nike's iconic Tech Fleece fabric. The fusion of opposing creative styles—Nike's stripped-down aesthetic and Sacai's reconstructed aesthetic—into a single collection represents a new endeavor.

The second NikeLab x Sacai summer collection is scheduled to be released in June.
